SAFL Director Position Profile

The position of Director involves responsibility for the general direction of the Laboratory; broad supervision of Laboratory personnel; allocation of Laboratory resources; representing the Laboratory in the College, University, and State; representing the Laboratory in local, national and international engineering and research communities; and outreach to other organizations within and outside the University.

University entities with SAFL connections include the Institute on the Environment (IonE), the Institute for Mathematics and Its Applications (IMA), the Center for Compact and Efficient Fluid Power (CCEFP), and the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS). The Director appointment will be at the Professor level and could be based in any of the departments comprising CSE including: Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics, Biomedical Engineering, Civil, Environmental and Geo- Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Earth Sciences, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, and Physics.
